A Work Permit is not an employment contract, but is a document that is issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, for the purpose of allowing an individual to work in Canada, to fill labor shortage, and to support economic growth in Canada. A Work Permit is only issued once an offer of employment has been made.
There are two types of Work Permits: Confirmed LIMA Employment (HRDSC confirmed employment, Labor Market Opinion) and Confirmation Exempt Employment.
We at Swift Immigration can help you with your Work Permit extensions and renewals, or if you have an offer of employment from a Canadian employer. A Labor Market Opinion is required before applying for a Work Permit renewal with the same employer or with the new employer.
